The baroque style palazzo in the centre of Demonte, preserves one of the most ancient sundials to be found in the Stura Valley on its exterior.
The Sheep Farming Eco-museum is in the hamlet of Pontebernardo, in the municipality of Pietraporzio, in the upper Stura Valley of Demonte. A museum trail which tells of rearing livestock in the Stura Valley both in the past and today.
In the village of Ferrere, in the Argentera region in the upper Stura Valley, the “casa del contrabbandiere” – house of the smuggler – is a museum tour about the ancient and traditional practice of smuggling which was a typical activity practiced by the inhabitants of the upper Valley.
The Fort Albertino is at Vinadio, in the upper Stura Valley, and is a masterpiece of military engineering and technology. Built in just 11 years, it was completed in 1847 by Carlo Alberto of Savoy.

The Espaci Occitan Institute of studies (Occitan Space) in Dronero is a centre that collects documents on Occitan culture located at the mouth of the Maira Valley.

Located in Chianale, in the ancient church of the Capuchins, who worked in the valley during the 17th and 18th centuries, the Museum was inaugurated on 13th September 2008. [read more]
