Espaci Occitan, the Museum and Institute of Occitan Studies

The Espaci Occitan Institute of studies (Occitan Space) in Dronero is a centre that collects documents on Occitan culture located at the mouth of the Maira Valley.

It has a book library and media library available to the public and hosts the educational museum “Sòn de Lenga” (Sound museum of the Occitan language) which, through a multimedia and ethnographic path offers visitors a virtual journey to discover the Occitan language through the ages that has been significant in the birth and development of Occitan culture and language. A recommended visit to explore and interpret the dynamics and characteristics that make Occitan identity a distinctive feature of this land.
