In Dronero, a journey into the Occitan world
The Espaci Occitan Institute of studies (Occitan Space) in Dronero is a centre that collects documents on Occitan culture located at the mouth of the Maira Valley.
It has a book library and media library available to the public and hosts the educational museum “Sòn de Lenga” (Sound museum of the Occitan language) which, through a multimedia and ethnographic path offers visitors a virtual journey to discover the Occitan language through the ages that has been significant in the birth and development of Occitan culture and language. A recommended visit to explore and interpret the dynamics and characteristics that make Occitan identity a distinctive feature of this land.
Wednesdays: 3-6 p.m.;
Thursdays and Fridays: 9 a.m.-12 p.m, 3-6 p.m.;
Saturdays: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
For visits to the Museum (until May 30): by appointment for groups of more than 15 persons.
