A space for remembrance in Dronero’s centre
The Mallè Museum is a place of remembrance, a portrait in the round of a man who’s great passions were art and collecting.
The museum is a donation of Luigi Mallé (Turin), lecturer of art history at the University of Turin and director of the Municipal Museum of Turin. Through a donation in his will, he entrusted the town of Dronero with his birth house and his private collection, on the condition that a “permanent exhibition” would be installed. In 1995, “Museo Mallé” was founded, exhibiting paintings from the 16th to the end of the 20th century, as well as printings, furniture, clocks, pottery, glass, and trinkets.
