Palazzo Borelli

Discovering Lalla Romano

The baroque style palazzo in the centre of Demonte, preserves one of the most ancient sundials to be found in the Stura Valley on its exterior.

The building is linked, via the passageway known as “di Carlo Alberto”, to the park next door which is an interesting example of a 19th Century terraced garden with fountains, grottos and greenhouse.  Within it there is the Lalla Romano room, a permanent exhibition dedicated to Graziella, known as Lalla, Romano, the writer and painter originally from Demonte.

The permanent exhibition, dedicated to Lalla Romano, shows paintings and drawings by the artist, a photographic reconstruction of her studio in via Brera in Milan and the covers of her literary works.
